Psalm 112

1 Praise the LORD.[b]
    Blessed is the man who fear the LORD,
    who find great delight in his commands.
2 His children will be mighty in the land;
    the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in his house,
    and his righteousness endures for ever.
4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
    for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.
5 Good will come to him who are generous and lend freely,
    who conduct his affairs with justice.
6 Surely he will never be shaken;
    a righteous man will be remembered for ever.

7 He will have no fear of bad news;
    his hearts is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
8 His hearts is secure, he will have no fear;
    in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
9 He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor,
    his righteousness endures for ever;
    his horn[c] will be lifted high in honour.
10 The wicked man will see and be vexed,
    they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
    the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Psalm 112: This psalm is another acrostic and is written in the same 10-verse format as the preceding one. It details the contrast between the righteous man and the wicked man, and it marks out the wisdom of this psalm as a wisdom psalm. Most of the psalm, however, is taken up with the good fortunes of the righteous man (verses 1-9), with only one verse dedicated to the observation of the wicked destruction (verse 10) will be too late!
The main part of the psalm is God’s covenant, the promise that binds God to His people, which God will never forget. When we respect God, and we trust Him, we are at the starting point of human insight to coming to know God.
I wonder how close are we in coming to know God?
   • Do we understand what He wants our world to be?
   • Do we show our love to the people on the streets in the same way Jesus did?
