1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
2 Why do the nations say,
‘Where is their God?’
3 Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him.
4 But their idols are silver and gold,
made by the hands of men.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear,
noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel,
feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.
9 O house of Israelites, trust in the LORD –
he is their help and shield.
10 O House of Aaron, trust in the LORD –

he is their help and shield.
11 You who fear him, trust in the LORD –
he is their help and shield.
12 The LORD remembers us and will bless us:
he will bless the house of Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
13 he will bless those who fear the LORD –
small and great alike.
14 May the LORD cause you to increase,
both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD,
but the earth he has given to man
17 It is not the dead who praise the LORD,
those who go down to silence;
18 it is we who extol the LORD,
both now and for evermore.
Praise the LORD.[a]

Psalm 115: This psalm is cry of deliverance. It is a call to Israel, to Priests and all God’s faithful followers. The Priest are to affirm to them that God’s blessings are with them. They are to trust God that all will be well.
How hard must it be when your country is attacked to hold on to the belief that God is with them? How hard is it for us, to keep our values of life in God’s ways, instead of going down the way of destruction and violence. It is disturbing to hear of all the violence in the streets, the young children involved in attacks, and you ask yourself is it safe to go out at night, or to areas you do not know.
I grew up in a time, when we promoted love everybody, people went down the streets giving out flowers to everyone. I wonder what has happened to change us from a loving world of people wanting world of peace, into a world where we cannot trust the people in the streets.
Perhaps the answer is in the psalm that is we need to put our trust and our values on life in what God has shown us. We need to show our love to the people in need. Show the love God has given us, to help other people and carry out the work God has given us without seeking rewards.
