Psalm 146

1 Praise the LORD.[a]
    Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 I will praise the LORD all my life;
    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
    in mortal men, who cannot save.
4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
    on that very day their plans come to nothing.
5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the LORD his God.

6 the Maker of heaven and earth,
    the sea, and everything in them –
    the Lord, who remains faithful for ever.
7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed
    and gives food to the hungry.
    The LORD sets prisoners free,
8 the LORD gives sight to the blind,
    the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,
    the LORD loves the righteous.
9 The LORD watches over the alien
    and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
    but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
10 The LORD reigns for ever,
    your God, O Zion, for all generations.
    Praise the LORD.

Psalm 146:- The psalm starts with our praise to God, then it is as if someone had written a CV for Jesus of all that He had done and how He had cared for the people around Him.

He gives food to the hungry – the feeding of the 4 and 5,000
Sets prisoners free – Luke 17:11-19 Healing 10 of leprosy
Blind can see Luke 18:35-43-
Those who are bowed down – Luke 5:18-20 healing Paralytic man
Good news to the poor, Freedom to the prisoners, sight to the blind,- Luke 4:18-19

One of my children is applying for jobs at the moment and, has to send out CVs to each company they are applying to. Each company has its own way that the CV information is filled in. As I read the psalm it brought to mind, if you had to write a CV for Jesus this psalm would fit the bill for all Jesus has done for us in the world.

If you ever doubt the work Jesus has done in the world, just read through the Gospels and remind yourself, of what Jesus did when he was on earth, and what He still does for us today.
Yes we should ‘Praise the Lord’ every day, for the work He does for us.
