Psalm 16

A mikan[a] of David.

1 Keep me safe, O God,
    for in you I take refuge.
2 I said to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.’
3 as for the saints who are in the land,
    ‘They are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.’
4 The sorrows of those will increase
    Who run after other gods,
    I will not pour out libations of blood
    or take up their names on my lips.
5 Lord, you have assigned my portion and my cup;
    you have made my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.

7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the Lord always before me.
    Because He is at my right hand,
    I shall not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices.
10 because you will not abandon me to the grave,
    nor will you let your Holy One[b] see decay.
    my body also will rest secure,
11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
(NIV)

Psalm 16:- This psalm is a good example in the difficulty to discover the original use and meaning. v8-11 in the original Septuagint are quoted by Peter in Acts 2:25-28 who interprets it as messianic prophecy. Remember as a young boy, David says he was guided by the Lord in all that he did.

Christians are taught from a young age or at baptism, that we are guided by the Holy Spirit of God within them. We should bless and praise the God continually for guiding our life. Jesus said He would send us the Comforter who would guide us into all truth.
In Matthew 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. (NIV)

The time will come when we shall rise and hopefully be in heaven with Jesus where there will be no more sorrow or crying. We will be in the heavenly place with Him, and we will rejoice forever more.

When we have God by our side, we can face whatever the world sends us, and we will get through it with God’s love. It might be a time of strengthening us for whatever is before us,
If you believe in Jeus, God will not abandon you. He will be there helping you through whatever is before you.
