Prayer for Victory
To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 May the Lord answer you when you are in
distress; May the name of the God of Jacob
protect you!
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary,
and give you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices,
and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4 May he give you the desire your heart,
and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when you are
victorious, and will lift up our banners in the
name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.

6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed.
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust is in the name of the Lord our God.
8 They will be brought to their knees and fall, but we shall rise and stand firm.
9 O Lord save the king,!
answer us when we call.[a] (NIV)

Psalm 20 - Psalm 20 and 21 go together: The first is a psalm of intercession by the people on behalf of the king before battle; the second is a psalm of thanksgiving for the victory achieved.
In Psalm 20 there is first a petition for the king (verses 1-5), then the divine assurance that victory is certain (verses 6-8); finally, the psalm closes with a prayer (verse 9).
(see 1 Sam 7:9, 13:9-12, )
Psalm 21 is mostly celebration after a battle. All holy assemblies, both before and after battles, involved prayer and praise dedicating the assemblies to God, who grants victories

Exodus 14:13-14 Moses answered his people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD, will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again. The LORD shall fight for you, and you need only to be still.'
Now let us see the results of Moses’ faith in God.
Exodus 15:1-6 “Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spoke, saying,
I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously:
the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.”
“The LORD [is] my strength and song, and he is become my salvation:
    he [is] my God, and I will prepare him a habitation;
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”
“The LORD [is] a man of war: the LORD [is] his name.”
“Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea:
his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.”

When trouble is around us do, we stand firm in our faith with God.
Do we ask Jesus to strengthen us for all that we are going through?

When I have had trouble or serios illness Jesus is the one I turn to, and He has been with me through the tough times in my life and there when it is all over.
