Psalm 70.

1 Hasten, O God, to save me;
    come quickly, LORD, to help me.
2 May those who seek my life
    2 May those who seek my life
    may all who desire my ruin
    be turned back in disgrace.
3 May those who say to me, ‘Aha! Aha!’
    turn back because of their shame.
4 But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;

may those who love your salvation always say,
    ‘Let God be exalted!’
5 Yet, I am poor and needy;
    come quickly to me, O God.
    You are my help and my deliverer;
    O LORD, do not delay.

Psalm 70:- If you think you have heard the words before you are not wrong. Look at psalm 40.verses 13-17. The words are almost identical.
Some believe that 70 and 71 should be this joined together.

Perhaps because this is an urgent prayer to God to save them. Ezra who put the Psalms together may have thought it would be a good prayer to remember in times of trouble. A prayer to save them from their enemies, those that are threatening them, or want to kill them.

Our life is not threatened in the same way as people in the past. We do not live in fear of
our towns and villages being overrun by other countries or nations. Those countries where it still happens is soon in our news, as I write this there has been an uprising in Israel. Where people were captured, and people are being killed.

Here in Great Britian, some people feel themselves threatened, by their workforce, by their partners or neighbours. It soon becomes news when the threat becomes serious and people are killed or beaten up.
When we are in difficult situation, we can only cry out to God to help us.
• Help us to understand what we can do to sort the problem.
• Help us find the people we can go to who will help?
• Are there things that we can do that will make sure we are safe?

This Psalm is a small easy psalm to have with you to call on God.
He is there ready to help you. You might not get an instant response, just remember it takes time to put people and things in the right place,
Remember the first line of the psalm says Hasten (come quickly) God to help me, God is never so far away He does not hear you.
