A song. A psalm of the Sons of Korah.
For the director of music. According to mahalath leannoth.[b] A maskil[c] of Heman the Ezrahite.

1 O LORD, you are the God who saves me;
    day and night I cry out before you.
2 May my prayer come before you;
    turn your ear to my cry.
3 For my soul is full of trouble
    and my life draws near the grave.
4 I am counted among those who go down to the pit;
    I am like one without strength.
5 I am set apart with the dead,
    like the slain who lie in the grave,
    whom you remember no more,
    who are cut off from your care.
6 You have put me in the lowest pit,
    in the darkest depths.
7 Your wrath lies heavily on me;
    you have overwhelmed me with all your waves.[d]
8 You have taken from me my closest friends
    and have made me repulsive to them.
    I am confined and cannot escape;
9 my eyes are dim with grief.
    I call to you, LORD, every day;
    I spread out my hands to you.
10 Do you show your wonders to the dead?

Do those who are dead rise up and praise you?
11 Is your love declared in the grave,
    your faithfulness in Destruction?[e]
12 Are your wonders known in the place of darkness,
    or your righteous deeds in the land of oblivion?
13 But I cry to you for help, O LORD;
    in the morning my prayer comes before you.
14 Why, O LORD, do you reject me
    and hide your face from me?
15 From my youth I have afflicted and close to death;
    I have suffered your terrors and am in despair.
16 Your wrath has swept over me;
    your terrors have destroyed me.
17 All day long they surround me like a flood;
    they have completely engulfed me.
18 You have taken my companions and loved ones from me;–
    the darkness is my closest friend. .

Psalm 88: is a prayer of despair. It speaks of bad things that have happened, of bad thoughts that happened to the writer, but he still calls out to God. He still has faith that God can save him.

It is a psalm that is sometimes used on Good Friday, to help us feel what Jesus went through.
Let your love for Jesus, flow from you for what He suffered, because it was God’s plan that it should happen that way.

This is what our faith should be, no matter what is thrown at us, bad names that we have been called, bad times we have been through, we should still cling on to Jesus, and He will lead us through these bad parts of our life, and He will comfort us as we go through it.

We can only see what is in front of us but think more of what God has planned for your life, for the people around you, and when we are going through bad times, try to think of what God is teaching you, and what is before you. Is God teaching us or getting us ready for something new? Remember on the cross how Jesus spoke to the man next to him.
Luke 23;40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[a]
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
