Psalm 93

1The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty.
    The Lord is robed in majesty
    And is armed with strength
    The world is firmly established.
    It cannot be moved
2Your throne was established long ago.
    You are from all eternity.
3 The seas have lifted up, O Lord
    The seas have lifted up their voice.

The seas have lifted up their pounding waves
4Mightier than the thunder of the great water, mightier than the breakers of the sea-
    The Lord on high is mighty.
5Your statues stand firm.
    Holiness adorns your house
    For endless days, O Lord.
(NIV)

Psalm 93: This psalm celebrates God’s rule of all the earth and everything in it of the heavenly kingdom (compare Psalms 47; 96-99), it speaks prophetically of the time when the Lord will rule on the earth in the person of the Messiah. The Lord’s kingship is described (verses 1-2), is revealed from the beginning of the earth (verses 3-4), and present in His house, the temple (verse 5).

• The Lord’s Universal Kingdom (93:1-4).
 Over the Earth (93:1-2);
 Over the Sea (93:3-4).
 The Lord’s Authoritative Revelation (93:5).
Nothing is more powerful than the Lord,;
Nothing is more steadfast than His reign,
Nothing is surer than His revelation.
The Lord might have displayed only his justice, holiness, and full power, in his dealings with fallen men; but he has been pleased to display the riches of his mercy, and the power of his renewing grace.
The psalm shows that God will give the Messiah, His Son authority and power in this great work. He will not only pardon but deliver and protect all who trust in him.
Whatever was foretold concerning the kingdom of the Messiah, will be fulfilled in due time. God has set His plans in motion to redeem the world, if only the people will only follow His Son.
